NWU to host its third Autism symposium

The Institute for Psychology & Wellbeing at the North-West University (NWU) will host its third Autism Symposium on 25 and 26 June. The symposium, which is presented jointly by the NWU and Autism South Africa (A;)SA), is an opportunity for all healthcare providers, educators, social workers, parents and individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder to come together to connect, share and learn.

NWU economist says Moody’s decision on SA’s investment rating is good news

The widely expected but critical decision by Moody's to retain South Africa's existing investment rating and also to raise the outlook to stable is good news for the economy. This is according to Prof Raymond Parsons, well-known economist and academic from the North-West University School of Business and Governance.

Basic education system pivotal to realisation of free higher education

A much welcome result of the #FeesMustFall movement is that over the next three years, the South African government spending framework has made provision for the allocation of R57 billion towards fee-free higher education and training. However – according to Prof Ilyayambwa Mwanawina, associate professor at the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Faculty of Law, there is still a lot of groundwork to be done.
