NWU’s visit to the North Carolina State University

As the NWU delegation’s visit under the leadership of principal and vice-chancellor, Prof Bismark Tyobeka to the North Carolina State University (NCSU) comes to an end, it is great to reflect on the many successful and insightful engagements. What a rewarding experience. The delegation will leave the United States with a reinvigorated purpose, knowing that the NWU is on track to further grow the university’s global footprint.

Academic awarded international President’s award

Prof Hans de Ridder, director of the School of Human Movement Sciences at the North-West University (NWU), was recently acknowledged with the President’s award at the biannual International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK) conference on 7 August in London, England.

This award is in recognition of his unwavering commitment to contributing to a field that blends science, health and sport, while impacting lives positively. Prof De Ridder is among the only two individuals honored with this distinction in the history of ISAK.

International collaboration impacts local quality improvement and patient safety

Dr Sabelile Tenza, a distinguished Senior lecturer and researcher from the School of Nursing Science and NUMIQ Research Entity at the North-West University, took the stage as an invited speaker at the prestigious Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Leadership Forum that took place from 18 to 19 July in Nairobi, Kenya.

Strong Nations for Africa: Developing leaders dedicated to advancing governance in Africa

The North-West University's (NWU’s) School of Government Studies proudly hosted the first of three legs of the Strong Nations for Africa Fellowship Programme from 28 July to 2 August 2024.

The programme, co-designed and co-delivered by the Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG) in Singapore and the African Association of Public Administration and Management (AAPAM), is tailored for senior African public sector leaders. It aims to build a community of leaders committed to enhancing the quality of national governance in their respective countries.
