Strong Nations for Africa: Developing leaders dedicated to advancing governance in Africa

The North-West University's (NWU’s) School of Government Studies proudly hosted the first of three legs of the Strong Nations for Africa Fellowship Programme from 28 July to 2 August 2024.

The programme, co-designed and co-delivered by the Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG) in Singapore and the African Association of Public Administration and Management (AAPAM), is tailored for senior African public sector leaders. It aims to build a community of leaders committed to enhancing the quality of national governance in their respective countries.

Internationally acclaimed pharmaceutical business leader receives honorary doctorate

The North-West University (NWU) bestowed an honorary doctorate on internationally renowned pharmaceutical business leader and NWU alumnus Jannie Oosthuizen on Friday, 2 August.

Mr Oosthuizen is recognised for his exceptional contributions to and significant standing in the international health sector, where he is considered a key role player.

California State University dean shares insights on how to establish an entrepreneurship ecosystem

Dr Gangaram Singh, an accomplished academic and dean of the College of Business and Economics at California State University, recently visited the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences (FEMS) at the North-West University (NWU) to share valuable insights on entrepreneurship ecosystem engagement.

The significance of Dr Singh's visit lies in his successful establishment of an entrepreneurship ecosystem at his institution, making him an ideal mentor for the NWU.

Academic and alumnus to represent South Africa at 2024 Venezuela Book Fair

North-West University (NWU) academic Prof Gilbert Motsaathebe and alumnus Dr Monicca Thulisile Bhuda have been selected as part of South Africa's team for the 20th International Book Fair of Venezuela (FILVEN) in Caracas, from 11 to 21 July 2024. South Africa will be the guest of honour at this event.

NWU academic’s visit to Romanian university highlights the power of academic exchange
