Chronic state of SA’s unemployed youth a major socio-economic challenge

Youth unemployment remains a highly contentious and multifaceted issue in South Africa. In fact, after the release of the latest figures – that show that about 48 percent of South Africans between 15 and 34 were unemployed in the third quarter of 2016 – experts have been quoted in the media as stating that the situation has now reached a “chronic” state.

Linking research to practice: Joining hands for inclusive education

NWU Vaal Senior Basketball Tournament a display of sporting talent

Reach for the sky or don’t even try.  This well-known basketball saying rang true during the recent high-profile NWU Vaal Senior Basketball Tournament which took place at the Harry Gwala Sport Centre in Sasolburg. This year marks the third rendition of the tournament and saw Sasol and Anglo American coming on board as the main sponsors of the event.
