The Student Campus Council (SCC) of the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Mahikeng Campus presented an online talk show about issues affecting the LGBTIQA+ community on 15 September 2020.
The show, themed “Being an NWU queer student”, aimed to create a safe space for LGBTIQA+ students on campus and to share more information about this community.
Olebogeng Basikeseng, SCC Current Affairs officer says the talk show will have three episodes, one episode per week every Tuesday, until the third week of September.
“With the alarming increase in homophobia towards the LGBTQI+ community in South Africa, the NWU continues to advocate embracing diversity among its students and staff through an inclusive and non-discriminatory approach,” says Olebogeng.
