The SEW will take place from 1-7 August 2017.
Heading up initiative – known as #SEW2017, is Dr Norah Clarke from the DHET’s Directorate for University Academic Planning and Management Support. Several institutions of higher learning will take part in the initiative, and in the Gauteng province the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Vanderbijlpark have been identified as a key role-player.
The theme for the week is “Entrepreneurship is a career” and on the campus in Vanderbijlpark the initiative will be coordinated by the bhive EDC, Business Management lecturers and the Young Entrepreneurship Business Organisation (YEBO)
According to Ms Natanya Meyer, an entrepreneur and lecturer in the School of Management Sciences on the campus, the aim of #SEW2017, is to impart basic entrepreneurship skills to students from all disciplines.
More about the NWU Entrepreneur Bootcamp
The NWU Entrepreneur Bootcamp – as hosted by the bhive EDC, will run over five days and will address aspects pertaining to idea generation, idea to concept, the development of a business model, networking and pitching. The programme will also see a motivational speaker addressing participating students.
