If you thought that beauty pageants were just about high fashion and desirability, you have another thing coming. This year the North-West University (NWU) will host its inaugural unified beauty pageant with contestants from all three campuses taking to the catwalk.
The pageant - which is hosted by the NWU’s Student Representative Council (SRC) - will take place on 18 August at the campus in Mahikeng, and promises to be a celebration of confidence, charisma and talent.
According to the organisers the pageant aims to showcase the public speaking skills, achievements, community service and talents of the participants. In short: 18 students stepping up to be proud NWU ambassadors and role models of positive change and empowerment.
