Oscar is amplifying the voice of South African youth in Russia

North-West University (NWU) student Oreneile Oscar Mosenogi has been chosen to represent the South Africa at the prestigious World Youth Festival in Sochi, Russia from 29 February to 8 March 2024.

Oscar is currently serving as the stakeholder relations officer of SABYA.

The World Youth Festival is the largest l youth event in the world and offers a platform for open conversation and opinion exchange to foster collaboration and to address critical global youth issues.

The festival is expected to draw more than 20 000 guests, including heads of state, federal ministers, parliamentarians, public figures, celebrities, and young professionals from various fields.

The diverse programme of the festival includes sports, cultural displays, scientific exhibitions, educational activities, as well as panel sessions and roundtable discussions.

"The event, occurring every seven years, presents a unique opportunity for individuals like me to contribute to global youth development and build international connections,” said Oscar.

“I aim to establish alliances that will enable me to return home and create a platform to share the knowledge, opportunities, and skills acquired during the festival, ultimately benefiting the youth of South Africa."

He added that he is committed to amplifying the voice of South African youth on a global scale by addressing key issues and advancing the vision of South African youth internationally.

"The experiences gained at the festival will empower me to contribute positively to the betterment and development of South African youth."
