Keamogetsoe Ledwaba-Moadi has been appointed as the new station manager at the NWUFM, the radio station at the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Mahikeng Campus.

Keamogetsoe says he is driven by his lifelong passion for radio and a desire to make a meaningful impact in the industry.

‘‘My passion for radio started at the age of 14, a dream that quickly took root and flourished. I sharpened my skills at a high school radio station, setting the stage for a lifelong career in the industry.’’

His dedication to his craft led him to the Tshwane University of Technology, where he thrived as a radio presenter from 2008 to 2012, gaining invaluable experience and refining his on-air presence. Recognising the need to broaden his skill set, he later pursued a bachelor’s degree in business communication in his late 20’s, blending his passion for radio with a solid foundation. He is now studying towards a master’s degree in business administration at the University of Johannesburg.

In 2018, Keamogetsoe was appointed as programmes manager at Tshwane FM. His appointment marked the beginning of a transformative period for the station, where he served until 2024.

Now he stands at the controls of NWUFM, bringing with him a wealth of experience and clear vision for the future. His ambition for the campus radio station is nothing short of inspiring.

“I want our presenters to be the biggest thing out there,” he says. His vision is to train and mentor young talent in the basics of radio, ensuring that NWUFM becomes a breeding ground for future industry leaders.

“For me, radio is more than just a career, it’s a home. What excites me the most about radio is that no two days are the same,” says Keamogetsoe.

Under Keamogetsoe’s leadership, NWUFM is set to embark on an exciting new chapter. With a focus on talent development, industry engagement and professional growth, the station is poised to reach new heights.
