NWU wins big at provincial sports awards

The boxing team on the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Mahikeng walked away with various prizes during the annual North West Provincial Sports awards that took place on 24 August 2018 at the Sebitloane High School Hall in Taung.

Tshegofatso Lentswe received the award for Sportswoman of the Year, Keoagile Morolong and Nompumelelo Dlamini were both announced Best Newcomers of the Year and head coach Onalenna Tsae received the award for Best Coach of the Year. The winners each received a certificate, a trophy and a cash prize.

“The NWU boxing team wishes to thank all the stakeholders that made our achievements possible,” said Keorapetse Mashimo, NWU boxing chairperson. “Compliments to the North West Education and Sports Department as well as the All Sports Confederation for hosting such an outstanding event. We would also like to congratulate all the winners on their achievements.

“We hope and believe that our team will bring even more awards home next year. Let us continue working together to raise the flag of our club and the NWU.”
