NWU TTIS launches Impact Lounge to empower researchers and innovators

The NWU Technology Transfer and Innovation Support (TTIS) office is open for business and coffee. The Impact Lounge is a new dedicated space that bridges the gap between a great idea and a real-world solution.

Located on the second floor of Building D1, it is an informal hub for innovators, researchers and entrepreneurs to brainstorm, collaborate and grow.

Whether you are refining an early concept or you are ready to commercialise, the TTIS team provides tailored support for every step of the journey:

  • Expert guidance: Get one-on-one consultations on the IP policy and funding of the NWU.
  • Pathways to impact: Explore commercialisation and identify your next steps.
  • Valuable networking: Connect with cross-disciplinary collaborators.
  • The perk: The coffee is on us while you work.

If you are an NWU researcher, academic or postgraduate student with an innovation to protect or develop, this space is for you. As Dr Janine Chantson, chief director of TTIS, explains: “The lounge provides the relaxed environment needed to turn promising research into impact.”
