More about this year’s WaterNet/WARFSA/GWP-SA symposium

This year marks the 25th symposium of WaterNet/WARFSA/GWP-SA. The theme was “Enhancing sustainability: Upscaling innovations and best practices for integrated catchment and water resources management (ICWRM) in Eastern and Southern Africa – Leaving no one behind”.

The symposium was jointly convened with the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS), Water Research Commission, AU/NEPAD Southern African Network of Water Centres of Excellence (AU/NEPAD SANWATCE) and the Local Organising Committee led by the National University of Lesotho.

It was a blended event held virtually at the Avani Maseru Hotel.

WaterNet aims to ensure the equitable sharing and sustainable use of water

WaterNet’s vision is to ensure a future in which the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and East African Community (EAC) region have the institutional and human capacity to educate and train its own water managers.

These managers will contribute to the fair sharing and sustainable use of water resources for poverty alleviation, economic development (livelihood security) and environmental security.

NWU Research and Postgraduate Support promotes postgraduate students

“Research and Postgraduate Support (RPS) is delighted to promote excellence and visibility of postgraduate students. We’re even more excited about working with the faculties and Corporate Relations and Marketing to increase visibility of master’s and high-achieving PhD students and their supervisors,” says Prof Nnenesi Kgabi, chief director of the newly upgraded RPS directorate.
