NWU student takes pageant world by storm

Onalenna Leepile, a final-year BCom student from the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Mahikeng, is a young woman determined to make a difference.

Not only was she announced first princess at the Miss Face of Mahikeng beauty pageant on 3 March 2018 at Mmabatho Palms, but she is also a contestant and brand ambassador for the Miss Eagle South Africa (MESA) pageant.

The Mahikeng-born beauty says she is excited about her most recent accomplishment, but that her eyes are firmly fixed on becoming Miss Eagle. Onalenna will participate in the MESA pageant on 15 December 2018 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Gauteng.

MESA is all about “beauty with brains and purpose” and the largest social media search via Facebook. The pageant encourages young women to care and contribute to their communities and country. Miss Eagle will represent South Africa on a national and international platform.

“As a contestant you need to complete certain tasks and score points to be chosen as a brand ambassador for MESA,” says Onalenna. “The amount of points you accumulate will enable you to progress from semi-finalist to finalist,” she adds.

The public are encouraged to vote for their favourite Miss Eagle representative – to vote for Onalenna Leepile, please send an sms with ‘ONA’ to 35334. Normal rates apply.

The NWU’s Onalenna Leepile wants to make a difference in the community and the country.
