NWU student selected to showcase his modelling talent overseas

North-West University (NWU) student Tumelo Ndlovu has been selected to showcase his modelling talent at the International Arts Talent Showcase.

The 21-year-old model from Mokopane in Limpopo is a third-year BA Behavioural Sciences student at the NWU’s Vanderbijlpark Campus, and has graced various ramps throughout his modelling career.

International Arts Talent Showcase is the largest talent showcase in Africa, allowing talented individuals and models to showcase their talent in acting, modelling, singing and dancing. Its main goal is to create national and international opportunities for aspiring artists and models.

The event is hosted annually in Johannesburg, where five elite American talent scouts evaluate the talent and models who perform on the show. This year, the event will host Joey Hunter, International Modelling and Talent Association board member and co-founder and president of Ford Models New York City, Rhavynn Drummer, executive independent casting director for Tyler Perry Studios, Nate Butler, part of the casting team for America’s Got Talent and X-Factor Blaze Johnson from The Voice team, and singer Adam Levine as scouts.

If Tumelo is successfully selected, he will attend the world’s largest talent and model convention in New York, where artists and models will have the opportunity to perform in front of more than 300 agents, casting directors, managers and music producers.

“I am very excited. This is a highly competitive show, and to make it this far is a very big deal,” he says.

If you would like to support Tumelo in raising funds for this next step in his journey, please contact NWU Arts coordinator Lethiwe Kubheka on 016 103 235.
