North-West University (NWU) coach Karabo Masehela promised that his Noble Boys will dedicate their next Varsity football game against the Central University of Technology (CUT) to their loyal fans.
Karabo says the purple army, as NWU supporters are affectionately known, has shown the team incredible support during all their home games.
“Our fans have been behind the team all the way. We aim to reward them with a convincing win in our last round-robin home game against CUT on 29 August,” he says.
NWU students and the communities around Mahikeng certainly love their football and have always shown a tremendous support for the NWU team since the beginning of the Varsity football in 2013.
Karabo says their supporters have been a pillar of strength in their past games.
“We have been working on our finishing tactics, especially since we previously missed out on clear chances to score more goals,” he adds.
Coach Karabo has made no changes to the starting line-up that beat the University of Johannesburg in their previous match on 22 August.
Currently the NWU is second on the Varsity Sports Football log with eight points, just two points behind log leaders and 2018 champions, Tswane University of Technology.
Kick-off for the game on 29 August is at 18:15 and will be televised live on Supersport 4/10.
The NWU’s Banele Hlophe runs circles around the University of Johannesburg during their most recent Varsity football encounter.
