NWU Soccer Institute secures a spot in the ABC Motsepe League provincial playoffs

The North-West University (NWU) Soccer Institute has secured a spot in the North West ABC Motsepe League Provincial playoffs and will be facing well-known opponent Orbit College FC.

The two teams will be facing each other in the provincial playoffs for the second year. In the 2022 playoffs, the NWU won the game, and they are geared to be crowned North West ABC Motsepe league champions for 2023 too.

The two teams are winners of streams A and B respectively. Orbit College won stream A of the North West ABC Motsepe League with 37 points, while the NWU won Stream B with 32 points.

NWU Soccer Institute manager Vuyo Sambo says last year’s win against Orbit College was great, but it’s history now.

“This year it’s a very different ball game altogether. It will be a tough and very tactical game, but the team’s spirit is high. The boys and the NWU are looking forward to this encounter,” he says.

The provincial champions will then proceed to the national play-offs.
