Former North-West University (NWU) Soccer Institute goalkeeper Boalefa Pule has signed a contract extension with SuperSport United FC until 2023.
The NWU Diploma of Sports Science graduate has been with the club since 2011.
Boalefa is better remembered for his heroics in helping the Tshwane giants to clinch the Nedbank Cup during the 2015/16 season, as they defeated Orlando Pirates in the final after he had replaced an injured Williams.
The former South African under-23 international has had two loan stints with Bidvest Wits and Amazulu FC – before returning to Matsatsantsa.
Boalefa was also part of the South African squad at the 2017 Cosafa Cup where Bafana Bafana finished fifth after defeating Namibia in the Plate final.
The Zeerust-born shot stopper says the extension means a lot to him as a player.
“I am grateful to the chairman, board and everyone at the club who believes in my abilities. This has reignited the fire in me to keep on pushing myself to serve the team with all I have.”
Boalefa’s advice to the current crop of NWU Soccer Institute players is to be grateful for the opportunity to be part of the institute.
“It is a rare opportunity – give it your all by working hard in your studies and on the field. You will never know who is watching.”
Boalefa hopes to reward SuperSport FC if he gets the chance when the season resumes having been suspended indefinitely since mid-March 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
