The North-West University (NWU) was recently recognised for being the highest rated institution for higher education at the prestigious 2022 PMR.africa Awards.
During the award ceremony at the Ingwe Guest Lodge in Vanderbijlpark, the NWU scooped a Diamond Arrow award for the eleventh consecutive time. Following PMR.africa’s annual survey, the university received a rating of 4,13 out of five as the best institution of higher learning in the Sedibeng district, which includes the municipalities of Emfuleni, Lesedi and Midvaal.
According to the PMR.Africa CEO Johan Hattingh, ratings are based on the perceptions of the respondents in the Sedibeng district. Companies and institutions were rated against the following criteria: companies/institutions that have done the most to enhance the economic growth and development of the district area over the past 12 months, levels of managerial expertise, implementation of corporate governance, brand awareness, and levels of innovation.
Prof Linda du Plessis, acting vice-chancellor and principal of the NWU, says the university is honoured to receive yet another accolade.
“This is an affirmation and evidence that we are doing something right. I want to thank all those who work hard to keep the university at the top.”
