NWU reaches out to less privileged learners

Academics in the subject group Business Statistics and Operations Research of the North-West University (NWU) recently donated school shoes to less privileged learners at PHERA Primary School in Tsetse, a village on the outskirts of Mahikeng.

Prof Elias Munapo, Prof Johannes Tsoku, Dr Kolentino Mpeta, Dr Martin Chanza, Ishmael Rapoo and Sharon Nwanamidwa represented the NWU. They handed over the donation to Mr Dibe and Ms Molwantoa from PHERA Primary.

“The Shoes Project is run by the subject group, which is part of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences. Members contribute money to buy shoes and stationery for disadvantaged and less fortunate pupils,” explains Prof Munapo.

“Besides the Shoes Project, the subject group also spearheads the Mahikeng Girl Child at Heart Project. This project focuses on providing sanitary products to less privileged girls in rural schools close to Mahikeng.”
