The Vanderbijlpark region boasts with a new beauty queen, and she is none other than Johané Petzer, a first-year BEd-student from the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Vanderbijlpark.

Johané, who is studying towards qualifying for a degree in Foundation Phase Education, was crowned as Miss Vaal 2017 during a glitzy ceremony at the Ettienne Rosseau Theatre in Sasolburg.

This year’s pageant saw all three female winners of the pageant proudly flying the university’s flag high. For the duration of her term, Johané will be joined by Marcelle Samons as the first princess and Mary Kolopang as the second princess. Both Marchelle and Mary are studying towards a Law degree and are respectively in their first and second years of study.
