The North-West University Football Club (NWU FC) shared the spoils with Cape Town City FC after a goalless draw at the Fanie du Toit Sports Ground in Potchefstroom on Saturday, 19 September 2026, as the Noble Boys continued their search for a first victory in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
The result follows the 1–1 away draw by NWU FC against Midlands Wanderers on 12 September, leaving the newly promoted side still searching for its first win in its inaugural Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign.
Despite the absence of goals, the match provided encouraging signs for the Purple Army, with NWU FC creating opportunities and showing determination against a Cape Town City side that entered the encounter having won its previous two league matches.
Chances created, but goals remain elusive
For the Noble Boys, the biggest frustration was their inability to convert promising opportunities into goals.
NWU FC came close on more than one occasion, including two opportunities in which the team found the woodwork after one-on-one situations with the goalkeeper.
