The North-West University (NWU) and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology recently co-hosted the International Conference on Business and Management Dynamics (ICBMD-2019) in Namibia.
The main theme of this conference was “Pragmatic business solutions by Africa for Africa”.
Many scholars and industry specialists shared their empirical and conceptual research papers, rigorous case studies, and technical reports which addressed contemporary and developing issues in all disciplines related to business management.
These disciplines included financial accounting, cost management, economics, marketing management, tourism and hospitality, retail and warehouse, human resources, knowledge management, information technology and business administration.
Prof Ravinder Rena from the NWU Business School and co-convener of the conference says that this event provided a platform for discussion, interaction, collaboration, networking and sharing, all for the sake of adding value to the existing body of knowledge.
“In an international dispensation, several business-related changes have taken place since the emergence of the 21st century, which include globalisation and technological advancements,” he says. “To facilitate adaption to the significant business-related changes the African continent has undergone in the past two decades, best practices have been researched and developed.”
