NWU alumnus scoops Best Afternoon Drive Presenter award for the second time

North-West University (NWU) alumnus and Motsweding FM Afternoon Drive show presenter Lucky "LTK" Komanisi, was announced as Best Afternoon Drive Presenter on radio for the second time in a row during the recent Radio Awards.

The winners of the eleventh edition of the Radio Awards were announced on 30 July 2021 during an online awards ceremony.

These awards honour outstanding achievements across campus, community, public broadcast and commercial radio, setting a benchmark for all stations and professionals to strive towards.

LTK, who scooped the same award in 2020, came out on top in the public broadcast station Afternoon Drive presenter category against his peers: Biziwe Masango (Ikwekwezi FM), Ntombi Meso (Radio 2000), Thabo Wa Mo-Afrika (Thobela FM), and Amaza Ntshanga (Umhlobo Wenene FM).

LTK says he is thankful to God for this double achievement. “Words cannot describe how I feel at the moment. This one goes to everybody who has been rooting for me from day one. I couldn't have done this without my show producer Thapelo Duncan Nkutha and the management of Motsweding FM,” he adds.

More about the vibrant presenter

LTK is an energetic go-getter who is optimistic about life and surrounds himself with good energy and good vibes.

He obtained a BA degree in communication from the NWU in 2013. Emphasising that radio is his world, he is also a public speaker, DJ, voice-over artist, influencer, social entrepreneur and one of the leading voices in the Fourth Industrial Revolution conversation.

LTK started his career at a community station in Mafikeng back in 2007. This platform enabled him to hone his skills as a broadcaster.

LTK has also worked for a regional commercial station (NWFM) where he hosted both afternoon and morning drive shows. In 2015 he was recruited to Motsweding FM and have since been hosting the ever-vibrant afternoon drive.
