The aim of the event is to inform Johannesburg-based alumni of all the recent developments that has taken place at the institution. During the event alumni will also be able to meet several members of the NWU’s senior management team, as well as being afforded the opportunity to network and socialise with fellow members of the alumni fraternity.
According to Mr Warren Makgowe, director for stakeholder relations, the NWU’s alumni fraternity represents a powerhouse of professionals – both locally and internationally. “The university takes great pride in its alumni and events such as this one offers us the ideal opportunity to not only foster a sense of belonging, but also to keep the alumni well-informed of issues such as the NWU’s strategic positioning, the revamped brand and the ongoing language debate”, explains Mr Makgowe. He adds that through the alumni fraternity, every graduate become a shareholder of their alma mater.
