NWU alumna and aspiring leader is blazing a trail

Dr Morategi Mojanaga, North-West University (NWU) alumna and chief animal health technician at the Gauteng Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, are in the running to win free participation in the Developing Women in Leadership course, offered by the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business (GSB).

The competition – during which members of the public are invited to nominate women who inspire them to be better leaders – Is run by MasterStart, a collaborative online partner of Africa’s leading providers of executive and business education, including USB-ED, GSB and GIBS.

The nine-week online short course competition is specifically designed to equip upcoming strong female leaders who are interested in self-development, career advancement and personal fulfilment.

Dr Mojanaga was nominated by her female colleagues.

“I am grateful for being nominated as a strong female leader and to stand a chance to win this empowering online course valued at almost R18 000. This opportunity will help me shape my future, and to give back and uplift other women in a male-dominated industry,” she says.

About Dr Morategi Mojanaga

Dr Morategi Mojanaga obtained her BSc and MSc degrees in animal health from the NWU, after which she pursued a PhD in agriculture with a focus on poultry production at Unisa.

As a young dynamic scientist she is playing an active role in South Africa’s agricultural sector.

She is a blazing a trail for young girls and women to break through the glass ceiling in this male-dominated industry.
