NWU academic to explore possible research collaboration

The Covenant University in Nigeria invited Prof Masood Khalique, an academic in the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences on the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Mahikeng, to present a series of lectures and to explore the possibility of research collaboration.

Prof Khalique will visit the university’s Department of Mathematics for two weeks.

He will present his series of lectures to staff, postgraduate and undergraduate students on the “Applications of Symmetry Analysis to Differential Equations”. During this time he will also explore the possibility of interdisciplinary research collaboration with the academic staff and postgraduate students of the College of Science and Technology at Covenant University.

“I hope that my visit will bring these two institutions closer together for future larger collaborative projects,” says Prof Khalique.

Prof Khalique has also been invited to participate in the committee for defence of a PhD thesis submitted for examination in the Department of Mathematics.
