NWU academic attends an International conference in Greece

Dr Musawenkosi Saurombe, an academic and researcher from the North-West University (NWU), recently attended the Academy of World Business, Marketing and Management Development Conference from 16 to 20 July 2018 at the Mediterranean College in Athens, Greece.

The conference theme was Marketing, Managing and Financing Organisations in International and Local Environments.

Dr Saurombe presented a research paper at the conference, titled “A conceptual assessment of the effective integration of female executive managers in corporate organisations”. She also served as a track chair for a session about women in leadership.

“Ever since I started participating in conference presentations, it has always been slightly nerve wrecking and anxiety inducing to think that I might not manage to say all I wanted to say within the allotted time,” said Dr Saurombe. “This time around it was a delightful experience, being the one to put up the five minutes left and time-up cards for others, as I was both a presenter and chair during a session.”

“I’m grateful to have been trusted with such significant responsibility. Even more exciting is that I received a track chair award at the conference, despite the fact that this was only my first experience. This for me was mind-blowing!” she concluded.
