South African and Finnish collaboration

The University of Eastern Finland is located in a town called Joensuu and was established in 2010. In the rankings of the World’s top universities under 50 years of age published by QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education World University Rankings, the UEF was ranked #71-80 by QS (2021) and 49th by THE (2019).

Why this collaboration?

The cooperation between the two institutions provides opportunities for activities such as exchanges of students and academic staff and joint research activities, including seminars, conferences and public lectures. The long-standing relationship between the NWU and Finnish universities will also open up the opportunity for capacity building at the NWU and reciprocal participation in doctoral and research master programmes by staff members of the respective institutions.
