Marilie applauded as top social work student

A bright future awaits Marilie Viljoen. This is evident when one considers her academic achievements as a social work (BSW) student at the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Vanderbijlpark.

During the recent Autumn Graduation Ceremony, Marilie graduated top of her class and received the prestigious Top Achiever Award. She received the award based on her consistent good academic achievement during her four years of study. Since the commencement of her studies towards a BSW degree, she managed to remain the top performing student throughout all her studies. She completed her degree with an average of 82,78% and achieved 40 distinctions out of 42 prescribed modules.

Marilie is currently registered for practice as a social worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professions and is in the process of furthering her studies. She is busy with her occasional studies and is doing her bridging modules in order to apply for an honours degree in industrial psychology at the NWU, at the end of 2018.

* Marilie was born and raised in the Vanderbijlpark and matriculated from Afrikaans High School, Sasolburg in 2013.
