Library and Thusong Projects take hands to give hope

Summer is in full swing and chances are that you have already cleaned out your winter closet. So, what are yLou going to do with your pre-loved, unwanted clothing?

The Library on the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Vanderbijlpark will gladly accept the clothing items you and your family no longer need – especially clothing that your kids used to wear. The staff from the Library is supporting the Thusong Project, an affiliate of Vesco, which aims to support sustainable communities through various interventions.

The clothing drive for vulnerable children aims to collect as many clothing items as possible suited for babies and young children up to the age of thirteen. Additionally, any donations of toiletries would also be welcomed.

According to the project coordinators the support rendered to the Thusong Project represents one of the ways in which the Library wishes to make an impact in the community it serves. Throughout the year the staff of the Library undertake various charity projects and by doing so contribute towards the upliftment of the Vanderbijlpark region.

* A donation box has been placed at the Security Counter in the Library, and all members of the campus community are invited to take part in this worthy cause. For more information about the Thusong Project, you can call Anna Kgaole or Daisy Makume on 087 097 0064 or 016 018 0025. #NWUCares #NWULibrary
