History Conference set to rethink colonialism

The North-West University’s (NWU) campus in Vanderbijlpark will be hosting the Regional History Studies South Africa Conference on 23 and 24 November 2017. The theme of this year’s conferenced will be “Rethinking Colonialism in South Africa”.

Prof David Coplan from the University of the Witwatersrand will be the keynote speaker and no less than 11 papers will be presented by respected experts in the field of South African History Studies.

Representatives from the University of Botswana, UNISA, Rhodes University, University of Stellenbosch and the University of the Free State will weigh in on the matter in different roles.

The two-day programme will conclude with a round table discussion, involving experts from different disciplines as well as a representative from the Department of Basic Education.
