During August this former chairperson of the Campus Student Representative Council (CSRC) will once again take his place in front of a television audience to take part in the Play Your Part series which will be airing on SABC2. The series is an initiative of Brand South Africa and aims to inspire South Africans to make a difference in their communities.
Over the course of the series several young leaders and achievers will be showcased in an effort to promote the spirit of active citizenship and nation building in South Africa. Sydney – in his capacity as a youth developer, social entrepreneur and motivational speaker – will be one of the young leaders who will be profiled.
According to Sydney it is important for the youth to take ownership of their own futures. “By developing your own abilities and skills, you are preparing yourself to become a change agent in your immediate community,” says Sydney.
