Midfield maestro Xolani Mlambo, a former player from the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Soccer Institute and until recently representing Bidvest Wits, has joined the PSL Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates.
Orlando Pirates made this official announcement on 29 January 2018, saying that they are delighted about the agreement reached with Bidvest Wits for the signing of midfielder Xolani Mlambo.
The 26-year old midfielder, affectionately known as '‘Ten-Ten” on the pitch, will be a valuable addition to the Buccaneers midfield.
Xolani joined the “Clever Boys” Bidvest Wits during the previous season and played a key role – alongside Thabang Monare in midfield – in the MTN8 club triumph.
Unfortunately Injuries hampered his progress and prevented him from holding down a regular place in the team.
Xolani Mlambo is the second player of the NWU Soccer Institute to join Orlando Pirates after winger Thabo Rakhale who until recently have been loaned to the Eastern Cape PSL outfit, Chippa United.
