Letlhogonolo Koketso Mosanya

Letlhogonolo Mosanya is a dedicated South African academic and registered social worker currently pursuing a PhD in Social Work at the University of the Western Cape. Her doctoral research focuses on developing guidelines for clinical interventions in South Africa, addressing the critical need for rights-based, non-judgmental, and comprehensive healthcare services for this key population. She holds a Master of Social Work from North-West University, where her dissertation on employee assistance programmes during COVID-19 was published in the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities.

As a Junior Lecturer at North-West University, Mosanya facilitates undergraduate teaching in psychosocial assessment, community work, ethics, and professional practice. She employs evidence-based, student-centred pedagogies and provides academic advising to students navigating barriers to success. Her commitment to student development was shaped by earlier roles as a Multilingual Tutor and Graduate Assistant, where she supported first-year students through critical academic transitions.

Mosanya's professional experience spans clinical research, employee wellness, and community-based social work. At the Aurum Institute, she conducted socio-behavioural research, HIV and TB prevention research with adolescent girls and young women, ensuring GCP compliance and data integrity. As an Employee Wellness Practitioner, she provided psychosocial assessments and counselling for workplace mental health. Her social work practice includes reintegration programmes for school dropouts, GBV survivors, and substance abuse cases at Ultrapex Sustainable Projects.

A Registered Social Worker with SACSSP, she is certified in Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Protection. Her technical skills include NVivo, REDCap, MEAL programmes, and advanced data analysis. She is a Golden Key International Honour Society member and has served in student leadership roles at NWU.

Mosanya's research bridges a key population ‘s health, psychosocial interventions, and health policy. She brings interdisciplinary expertise in qualitative research, programme evaluation, and policy-relevant scholarship. Driven by social justice and transformative education, she seeks to advance equitable healthcare through engaged research, innovative teaching, and evidence-based practice that empowers marginalised populations and strengthens health systems.
