Prof Anitia Lubbe

Anitia is an Associate Professor at North-West University’s Centre for Health Professions Education, where she focuses on assessment, feedback, and self-directed learning in health professions education. With a strong background in education and a research trajectory spanning over a decade, her work explores how assessment and feedback practices can support student learning and professional development.

Her research interests include assessment literacy, feedback literacy, digital assessment, and the integration of generative AI in higher education. She has contributed to multiple projects on curriculum development and plays a key role in shaping assessment strategies within the institution. She has published widely in the field, regularly presents at national and international conferences, and is committed to fostering innovative teaching and learning practices.

Anitia is actively involved in academic leadership, serving on NWU’s Digital Assessment Task Team and NWU’s AI Steering Committee. She also leads the development of a Short Learning Programme on Feedback Literacy in Health Professions Education, designed to enhance university lecturers' ability to provide meaningful and effective feedback.

Beyond her research and teaching, Anitia is passionate about supporting clinician educators and students in developing the skills necessary for lifelong learning in the evolving healthcare landscape.
