Dr Mathew Moyo appointed to global university libraries board

The International Association of University Libraries (IATUL) has appointed the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Dr Mathew Moyo as a board member.

Dr Moyo, chief director for Library and Information Services at the NWU, has more than 30 years’ experience in the field and sees his appointment as an opportunity to contribute to international academic librarianship.

“Considering the ongoing advances in technology and the resultant shifting higher education landscape, IATUL means a solution to global academic library challenges through impactful networks and collaboration,” he says.

IATUL is a voluntary international non-governmental organisation comprising university libraries, represented by their directors or senior managers responsible for information services and resource management.

Originally established in May 1955 in Düsseldorf, Germany, as the International Association of Technological University Libraries, the organisation served as a platform for sharing ideas relevant to librarianship in technological universities across the globe. Over time, its scope expanded to include a broader spectrum of academic institutions.
