Add to this the pride and loyalty of the members of the extended university community and you understand why year-on-year graduates go out in the wider world with not only a spirit of deep rooted purpose, but also a vigour to continue to make an active contribution towards their alma mater. And this year is no different.
During 2018 the Alumni Office of the NWU’s campus in Vanderbijlpark will treat members of the alumni fraternity to several events, including networking occasions, reunions and business breakfast sessions.
The year will also see the continuation and expansion of the campus’s Young Alumni initiative. The latter aims not only to transform new graduates into active alumni, but also to motivate them to remain active role-players within the university environment – be it as volunteers, donors, mentors of guests lecturers.
According to Zanele Ngobese of the Alumni Office, this year will also see the composition of regional chapters and as such events are planned for Cape Town, Johannesburg and Bloemfontein.
