The bodybuilding team from the North-West University (NWU)'s Vanderbijlpark Campus had a successful run at the University Sports South Africa (USSA) provincials, walking away with eight trophies and three medals.
The team's impressive performance included five first-place finishes, one second place, and two third places.
The team's success at the provincials has also led to 11 bodybuilders qualifying to represent the NWU at the national USSA competition in eMalahleni, Mpumalanga from 1 to 3 September.
Coach Raphael Ntumba says he is very proud of the team's performance.
"The team has worked extremely hard, and their dedication has paid off. It is an honour to coach such a talented group of athletes, and I do not doubt that they will continue to make us proud at the nationals," he says.
Prof Linda du Plessis, vice-principal and deputy vice-chancellor for planning and Vanderbijlpark Campus operations, says the team members have represented the university well.
"Congratulations again to the team. We are eagerly looking forward to their performance at the nationals, and we wish them the best of luck,” she adds.
