BMI: industry directed research prepares students for world of work

Each year master’s students from the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences’ Centre for Business, Mathematics and Informatics (BMI) conduct a first semester group research project. This project aims to prepare the students for their second semester individual industry directed research projects.

This year saw a group of BMI students developing an online post discharge survey system for Witrand Hospital in Potchefstroom. By making use of free online software, the system enables hospital staff to improve the quality of their services – based on the feedback received. This online system is also a substantial improvement on the previous manually operated process.

All-round success and happiness. The BMI students and representatives of the hospital.
