Orebotse Bobo Mongae, an alumnus of the North-West University (NWU) Soccer Institute, has recently secured a two-year professional contract with a Botswana Premier League (BPL) outfit, Jwaneng Galaxy FC.
Orebotse joins Thapelo Tlabakwe who joined Jomo Cosmos FC earlier this year, making him the second Soccer Institute player to join a professional team in 2017.
He is also the 11th player to join a professional team since the inception of institute in 2007.
Bobo, as he is more commonly known in Mahikeng, has been loaned to Miscellaneous SC in the BPL, since teams in Botswana are only allowed to register three foreigners.
This midfield maestro had already stamped his authority in the BPL in his first professional debut under the colours of Miscellaneous SC when he played the full 90 minutes in an away game against Black Forest FC.
He already has two goals to his name in the league which started in the first week of October 2017.
"I am very happy for him and I promise that he will not play in Botswana for too long as PSL is the main goal,” says Tebogo Ramasilo, Bobo’s agent. “He is a quality player and this move is long overdue. He has proven his worth locally and has acquired experience by playing in the SAB League, ABC Motsepe League and the Varsity Football tournament."
Bobo is a Sports Science Diploma graduate from the NWU.He grew up playing soccer in the Majemamtsho village in Mahikeng.
