IP Forum stationery donation drive: help us to make a difference

School accessories such as stationery do not come cheap. Just ask any parent who has to buy stationery at the beginning of every school year. For many parents, especially those in low income groups, this is a daunting task that causes major stress. The same can be said for the learners who subsequently have to make do without these essential materials.

With this in mind a group of students from the North-West University’s (NWU) campus in Vanderbijlpark has stepped up to the challenge and recently launched a stationery donation drive.

The Industrial Psychology (IP) Forum – an affiliated student academic body within the School of Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management – is appealing to all members of the campus community for their assistance and support in this regard.

The aim of the drive is to collect as much new and preloved stationery items as possible for learners in need. According to the IP Forum members the donations will be presented to Grade 12 learners in Sharpeville. Typical stationery items for senior learners include:
•    A4 exam pads
•    A4 hardcover books
•    Scientific calculators
•    Math sets
•    Pens (black and blue)
•    Pencils
•    Highlighters
•    Rulers
•    Scissors
•    Staplers
•    Lever Arch Files
