R-Language smart with Optentia

“R” you ready to take your research to the next level? Then the course that the Optentia Research Focus Area is hosting at the Vanderbijlpark Campus of the North-West University (NWU) on 15-17 March is just what you need!

R is a language and environment for statistical computing and graphics. It is a programming language and software environment for statistical computing and graphics supported by the R Foundation for Statistical Computing. The R language is widely used among statisticians and data miners for developing statistical software and data analysis.

The course will take place over three days and will aim to educate and skill participants to an intermediate ‘data analyst with R’-level that allows them to independently continue building their programming/ scripting skills and expertise.   Each day will consist of an alternating series of lectures, discussions and practical work.  Each participant will have access to a computer running Windows and pre-loaded with R, but may bring their own laptop if desired.  The workshop size will be restricted to 15 participants.  You can access the workshop programme here
