Polish expert in supply chain management visits NWU

Sebastian Kot regards South Africa as not only one of the most beautiful countries he has visited thus far, but also as a valued destination for collaborative research.

During a recent visit to sunny South Africa it was not only the scenic environment, the local cuisine or the friendly people that left Sebastian Kot in awe, but also the innovative and impactful research being conducted at the North-West University (NWU).

Sebastian, a professor in management and supply chain management and also the deputy director of the Institute of Logistics at Czestochowa University of Technology in Poland, visited the NWU’s campus in Vanderbijlpark to deliver an inaugural address and network with academic peers.

With more than 19 years of teaching, research and managerial experience in higher education, Sebastian serves as an extraordinary professor in the NWU’s School of Economics. He has published widely, and his publications include books, chapters, accredited journals and conference proceedings. He is furthermore the founder and co-editor of the Polish Journal of Management.

The theme of his inaugural address was “Supply Chain Management in Small and Medium Enterprises”, and saw researchers and academics from several institutions of higher learning as well as postgraduate students in attendance.

A highlight of his stay in Vanderbijlpark was a guided tour of Sharpeville.
