NWU to host public lecture on financial management skills for emerging entrepreneurs

The North-West University (NWU) will host a public lecture focused on equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with practical financial management skills to support sustainable business growth. The session will be presented by Clement Makwela from the School of Management Sciences.

Clement is an emerging academic and researcher in business management. He holds an honours degree in management sciences with business management, a master’s degree in business management, and is currently pursuing a PhD in the same field. His research focuses on innovative management practices and organisational development, particularly in addressing real-world business challenges.

The lecture, titled “Financial Management Skills for Emerging Entrepreneurs”, will provide students and aspiring business owners with practical tools to manage their finances effectively. Key focus areas include budgeting, cash-flow management, investment decision-making and financial planning.

By linking theory with real-world application, the session aims to strengthen financial literacy, strategic thinking and resilience skills that are critical for navigating the competitive business environment of today.

The session will take place on 10 June 2026 from 10:00 to 12:30 and will be hosted online via Microsoft Teams. Students, emerging entrepreneurs and members of the broader community are encouraged to attend.
