NWU academic invited to present at international symposium in Russia

Prof Masood Khalique of the Department of Mathematical Sciences on the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Mahikeng has been invited to do a presentation  at the international conference “Nonlinear Dynamics and Complexity – 2017”.

Prof Khalique’s will present a paper entitled “Lie group analysis and conservation laws of the Zoomeron equation”.

The conference will be held as part of the international symposium on Topical Problems of Nonlinear Wave Physics (NWP-2017) that will take place on board a four-deck river ship cruising from Moscow to St Petersburg in Russia from 22 to 28 July 2017.

This meeting is a continuation of the previous symposia "Topical Problems of Nonlinear Wave Physics-2003, 2005, 2008, and 2014" that attracted leading experts from around the world.

The upcoming symposium will be devoted to recent progress in the interrelated fields of the physics of nonlinear waves with applications to systems of different origin.

The symposium will include three parallel topical conferences:

  • NWP-1: Nonlinear Dynamics and Complexity
  • NWP-2: Lasers with High Peak and High Average Power
  • NWP-3: Nonlinear Phenomena in the Atmosphere and Ocean

The following two workshops will also be part of the symposium:

  • Magnetic Fields in Laboratory High Energy Density Plasmas (LaB)
  • Key technological issues in construction and exploitation of 100 PW class lasers

Each conference will feature oral (invited and contributed) talks and poster sessions, as well as plenary lectures on interrelated topics. The conference is organised by the Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and International Centre for Advanced Studies in Nizhny Novgorod, and is supported by the government of the Russian Federation and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research.
