Muchativugwa Liberty Hove is a Full Professor in Applied English Language Studies & Literature in English at North-West University and formerly a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, University of Limpopo. He is Director for the Research Incubation Hub and formerly Deputy Director in the School for Literature and Language Education. Current research interests are in nation and narration, critical literary theory, cultural metissage and applied language studies, especially curriculum renewal through the decolonisation project, curriculum theory and pedagogics of teaching English. Muchativugwa Hove is a National Research Foundation (NRF) C-2 rated researcher with articles in excess of 50 in national and international journals, 12 book chapters, 6 co-edited books on the dynamics of teacher education, quality education and an edited book on auto/biography. His recent monograph, Rereading Chenjerai Hove: Rupture and Suture in Zimbabwean Literature (Routledge, 2026) proposes reading of Hove’s work through the dual concepts of rupture and suture. This book investigates Hove’s position as a writer at home and in exile and extends his contribution to debates on voicing agency, the matrices of identity and cultures through narrative/s.
