My research interests are towards enhancing preclinical drug development capability in Africa by providing more translational preclinical models and by training and mentoring young people. I also have experience as a Study Director for preclinical testing in compliance with OECD Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines. I work in interdisciplinary and inter-institutional collaborative teams involved in different aspects of drug development. I have co-authored 25 publications and two book chapters. I am a member of the South African Young Academy of Science, fellow of the Africa Science Leadership Programme and alumnus of the DAAD Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies Programme.
