As a Biokineticists she is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and serves on the board of Directors of the Biokinetics Association of Southern Africa in the portfolio for Academic. Before Prof Moss joined the North-West University in 2003, she was the owner and independent practitioner of Moss Biokinetics. She has international standing in her field of physical activity as modality for the prevention and treatment of risk factors of chronic diseases of lifestyle across the life span, with a focus on persons with special needs (pregnancy and intellectually disabled). She has published in this area in international peer review journals. Her work has been cited more than 200 times and her h-index = 6. She has presented scientific papers at various national and international conferences. She has also contributed to chapters in scientific books in the field of exercise and chronic diseases and special populations such a pregnancy. Prof Moss has supervised more than 30 post-graduate students and published more than 40 ISI articles. Her international standing is eminent in her NRF rating as C2. She has received both national and international awards for her research in the role of physical activity on risk factors for no-communicable diseases. The most recent of these awards is the Albert Strating Prize in Preventative Medicine from the Academy of Science and Art.  She has presented guest lectures in the United States of America, Australia, Poland, The Netherlands and Mozambique.
