The nurse educators responsible for producing future professionals must also have the requisite knowledge and competencies to achieve the objective of providing culturally congruent care to the diverse population. Dr Shopo is a member of the Transcultural Nursing Society, an international organisation which aims to enhance the quality of culturally congruent, competent, and equitable care that results in improved health and well-being for people worldwide. She has contributed to research in the field of cultural competence with manuscripts published in international peer-reviewed journals. One of the manuscripts were written in collaboration with researcher from Namibia, this further emphasises the drive for collaboration in research to promote cultural competence. Furthermore, she has received NRF Thuthuka funding this year to pursue her research in the filed of cultural competence in nursing. She is also in the process of developing a short learning programme titled “Cultural Competence for Healthcare Professionals”, this is the product of the PhD study.</p> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-other-experts-in field--type-entity-reference field--label-above"> <div class="field--label">Other experts in</div> <div class="field--item"><a href="/taxonomy/term/1598" hreflang="en">Nursing</a></div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-other-media field--type-text-long field--label-above"> <div class="field--label">Other Media</div> <div class="field--item"><p><a href="https://doi.org/10.1177/10436596241301407&amp;nbsp">https://doi.org/10.1177/10436596241301407&amp;nbsp</a>;</p> <p><a href="https://doi.org/10.1177/10436596241291839&amp;nbsp">https://doi.org/10.1177/10436596241291839&amp;nbsp</a>;</p> <p><a href="https://doi.org/10.1186/s12913-024-11117-6&amp;nbsp">https://doi.org/10.1186/s12913-024-11117-6&amp;nbsp</a>;</p> <p><a href="https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ijans.2024.100680&amp;nbsp">https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ijans.2024.100680&amp;nbsp</a>;</p> <p><a href="https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ijans.2023.100602&amp;nbsp">https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ijans.2023.100602&amp;nbsp</a>;</p> <p><a href="https://doi.org/10.1177/10436596231175165&amp;nbsp">https://doi.org/10.1177/10436596231175165&amp;nbsp</a>;</p> <p><a href="https://doi.org/10.4102/curationis.v46i1.2447&amp;nbsp">https://doi.org/10.4102/curationis.v46i1.2447&amp;nbsp</a>;</p> <p><a href="https://doi.org/10.1186/s12884-022-05321-7&amp;nbsp">https://doi.org/10.1186/s12884-022-05321-7&amp;nbsp</a>;</p> <p><a href="https://doi.org/10.1016/j.midw.2022.103527">https://doi.org/10.1016/j.midw.2022.103527</a></p> <p><a href="https://doi.org/10.25159/2520-5293/4982">https://doi.org/10.25159/2520-5293/4982</a></p> </div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-facebook field--type-link field--label-hidden field--item"><a href="https://www.facebook.com/khumo.shopo">https://www.facebook.com/khumo.shopo</a></div> <div class="field field--name-field-linkedin field--type-link field--label-hidden field--item"><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/dr-khumoetsile-shopo-phd-107bb237/">https://www.linkedin.com/in/dr-khumoetsile-shopo-phd-107bb237/</a></div> <div class="field field--name-field-physical-address field--type-text-long field--label-inline"> <div class="field--label">Physical Address</div> <div class="field--item"><p>Potchefstroom Campus</p> <p>School of Nursing, Building F7, Office G25</p> </div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-telephone-number field--type-string field--label-inline"> <div class="field--label">Telephone Number</div> <div class="field--item">018 285 2030</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-cellphone field--type-string field--label-inline"> <div class="field--label">Cellphone Number</div> <div class="field--item">083 239 5017</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-e-mail-main field--type-email field--label-inline"> <div class="field--label">E-mail</div> <div class="field--item">Khumo.Shopo@nwu.ac.za</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-image field--type-image field--label-hidden field--item"> <img src="/sites/news.nwu.ac.za/files/files/experts/WhatsApp%20Image%202024-07-10%20at%2010.48.15_6a178756.jpg" width="1005" height="1280" alt="" typeof="foaf:Image" class="img-responsive" /> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-photo-caption field--type-string field--label-hidden field--item">Dr. Khumoetsile Shopo</div> Thu, 27 Mar 2025 12:07:53 +0000 BELINDA BANTHAM 30695 at https://news.nwu.ac.za Welma Lubbe https://news.nwu.ac.za/experts/welma-lubbe <span>Welma Lubbe</span> <span><span lang="" about="/user/32504" typeof="schema:Person" property="schema:name" datatype="">BELINDA BANTHAM</span></span> <span>Wed, 10/24/2018 -
