Women's Month message from Prof Dan Kgwadi, vice-chancellor of the NWU
As we prepare to celebrate Women's Month and Women's Day on 9 August, let us salute South African women, and especially the women of NWU for their unique and valuable contribution to the university and our communities. Acknowledging women would not be complete without honouring mothers and caregivers, not only among our staff and students but also in the communities which surround us. Their nurturing is vital to our survival. Thank you for being at the forefront of transforming South Africa and indeed the world into a place where talent and ability is nourished, encouraged and celebrated. The NWU celebrates you.
Meet some of our extraordinary #NWUWomen:

#NWUWomen making news
August is Women’s Month and the North-West University (NWU) is proud to celebrate their achievements for the next 31 days. However, at the NWU we feel this should be done every day of the year. To all our mothers and sisters, our daughters and our friends, our mentors and our educators, thank you for continuously striving to build a future that is shaped by a dedication to the betterment of all lives. At the NWU 55% of our staff is female and so is 65% of our students. It is through their commitment and enterprise that the heart of this wonderful institution beats.
